GET INVOLVED

It’s easy to get involved. As a parent of a Winthrop student, you are already a part of Friends.

The school needs you, and your kids will love to have you be a part of their school community. There are opportunities to help out for special events throughout the year, like Holiday Boutique, Halloween Happenings, the Walk-a-thon, and more.

OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED NOW:

• River Run Coordinator and Volunteers: We need one parent to organize a 2-day a week coverage for River Run so the children can enjoy this amazing resource that we are so fortunate to have on the Winthrop grounds.  Additional volunteers are needed to provide this coverage.
• Hospitality: Already planning on coming to the monthly FOW meetings?  If so, enjoy many thanks for providing coffee and snacks for which you will be reimbursed.
• CPA:  If you, or someone you know, is a CPA who would be willing to process FOW taxes this year (we are a non-profit, so we don’t pay taxes, but our forms are due in January) please let us know.

Holiday Boutique Positions

• Publicity: We need your help letting the community know about our biggest fundraiser of the year.  From placing ads in the local papers to composing a weekly or biweekly newsletter highlighting the needs of the Holiday Boutique chairs, this position is vital to the success of the Holiday Boutique.
• Craft Nights: We’ve got three more craft nights scheduled to create cool things for the Kid’s Secret Shop at Holiday Boutique.
• Cookie Walk:  The holiday boutique seems far off, but you can start baking NOW for the cookie walk.  Bake and freeze your cookies – we need dozens and dozens.
